051 Clutch nut coming loose

The clutch nut on my stihl 051 keeps coming loose when I'm milling. I tighten it regularly but it has actually worn a hole right through the aluminium clutch cover! Although there was already wear here when I got the saw. There is often steel dust on the thread so its clearly doing damage here too. Should I replace the clutch, the nut or use loctite or something?

Sorry I am not familiar with these saws so can't advise, however I would say that I wouldn't be thinking of loctite in any event.

Had it happen to my 076 when I just rebuilt it, superglue did the trick

Can it not be set tight with a screwdriver on the metal of the clutch and tapped tight with a hammer.

On the 051/076 and even the old 020av the clutch screws on then a large washer to cover the Springs and keep the shoes on the clutch carrier, Followed By a nut.

The nut comes undone and the clutch can in effect fall from the carrier.

Yeah, loctite the nut, done that on my 020avs, 041, 051 and 090

Thanks guys. Is there a certain kind of loctite thats good for it or can it just be any old superglue?

The heat resistant one

Something like 243 medium strength oil tolerant if you want to get it apart again in the future.
