It's a first gen x-torq, a step back IMO, rubber AV mounts, separate choke and stop switch, no crank stuffers, side mounted transfers (550 and 560 are front to back), all of those things are outdated compared to the modern huskys (even the 242 had more tech for a comparison). And at 14000 rpm, it's no thrashing nipper!

Well, you know it's not really a pro saw, the idea is they use the most up-to-date tech! It revs lower than a 346xp, it's not progress! Especially against Stihls 241, which is also 1st gen x-torq, but that has auto tune, spring AV!

I basically agree with all that, and the 242xp had a higher max power output as well. To me, the above was a disappointment, when the details started to come out....

 

What likely matters the most though, if how it feels and performs compared to the MS241.
