Ford Ranger Question

Hopefully sold my house today so looking at getting a new truck, ideally 3 seater 4wd tipper. Ford ranger supercab seems to fit the bill, but reading other threads on here, i understand they had a gearing/towing problem. Iheard the newer model(2011-present) is ok. Is it correct that a 2011 model would be ok on this front, or should i bite the bullet and get a 130 hiab/tipper. LOl, dont wanna start that argument again! But what sort of payload could you expect from a 130 with crane and tipper? And 1 more. If you buy a 2 seater 130, isit easy to convert to a 3 seater?

Thanks Guys

James

Thx, never really thought much of the navara, but not sure why? I know im unlikely to find a navara/ranger supercab that tips, but could get a conversion if i saw fit. I have been looking at this

Land Rover Defender 130 110 Hiab Drop Side Pick Up. | eBay

But i would need a decent lockbox on it, and to hack the back about to make it tip leaving crane and box where they were.Thoughts?

Thx

James

130 hiab tipper eh, theoretical payload dunno, actual drivable payload, next to eff all.

The current ranger is huge, good payload, and if you get the 3.2, lots of grunt.

The Isuzu dmax is pretty impressive for a normal sized pickup.

I have a navara, been an excellent truck and gets worked hard too.

I have seen a Nissan Navara converted to have a tipper back to it. Don't know what the cost of that would be though. I do however know for a fact that they are excellent trucks with a heck of a lot of power.

going to have my navara done by having a tipper fitted to back. all aluminum and being built by hand by a aircraft builder. cost £2.500. but the navaras are a good truck just watch the D22 yd25 models. if they have 70k plus and no new engine be warey they do go bang. D40 earlier models had problems later ones believe are ok. but my D22 pulls like a train good on fuel. and tows well. now mine has a new engine will keep it

Why do you say that la sanglier, wouldn't handle or wouldn't pull?

Handling!, pullings ok. with a full load and the hiab it would be like a drunk hippo.

I think we all want that perfect vehicle. Hiab, tipper, 4wd, economical, use for pricing etc.

It doesn't exist, Mogs are probably the closest, but they're pricey and..... well you get the idea.

I think a single cab Ranger, Navara tipper looks ok but where to put tools and all the other gear.

I reckon the best outfit for a tree surgeon in the uk is Transit/iveco whatever tipper, good Japanese crewcab 4wd, 6in chipper.

Having said that my Landy tipper got me out of trouble yesterday pulling the Ranger and trailer and 1.5t digger out of a site.

It's a conundrum isn't it?
