stihl 038 av super parts ?

many thanks for the replys to those who helped with the trigger bar connector to the carb. As i mentioned the fuel tank casing cracked- and the exopy resin has failed to do its job. Looked for replacement- lots on ebay, and chainsawparts sell " I really good none OEM part " for £ 40.00. I am an occasional saw user- not a pro. Any help regarding a source much appreciated.

I have an alloy fuel tank and handle assembly for an 038 not super, but I think they are the same. £20 + post if you need it.

Thanks Dinosaw- this might be a goer. Will do some research to see if the 038 fits the 038 AV Super. Is this the type of part you have.

The question to ask really is can you buy another​ saw for forty notes? Probably not, so just buy the part.

It says in his post it's an alloy part, is yours alloy ? They are interchangeable but metal ones might need different screws in the AV mount.

It's an alloy one but no cracks in the handle or anything.Doesn't have a fuel cap.

If the handle /tank is metal, I've had great results doing repairs to things that I would have previously considered scrap with this, hts 2000.

If the alloy's not too corroded it's not difficult to do, although with magnesium alloy you need to be quick and very clean, stainless wire brush also needed but you can get what's needed for about a tenner all in, check it out, cheers.
