Which one have you got chap, the first wireless one?

TT20K - it has PP3 batteries, easy to change and is wireless although it comes with a lead if necessary but have never needed to use it on all saws I have tached.

The UK guy will actually send you the bit of kit and then invoice you, very trusting! Tiny-Tach: Contact us ITCO

The price was something like £75, expensive but for a tool, but I use it on pretty much every saw I service and is a good investment in my opinion.

The refresh is good, it will read to 20Krpm, it is wireless and can hold maximum revs and has a few other features.

It is my choice as it is what I use, others may be just as good!

I have the same one as Spud and it's been ace. Pretty robust too.

The main drawback with it is that it suffers from only having a single button, so changing any setting is a case of 'cycle through options, then hold button, then count to ten then press button again when flashing...'. Apart from that (and that is only a minor thing) it is very good.

Thanks for all the comments chaps. I'm tempted with the same one as Steve, but I do also see cheaper ones on eBay. Saying that though, it'd be more expensive blowing a saw up because a cheap tach was 1000rpm out! By ear I set saws too rich, which is safe, but makes them rubbish!

What does my 346 rev to now steve, it absolutely screams - makes me smile every time I start it :)

I've just got a scrapper of a 460 that I've built up, and just ordered a duel port exhaust cover for, I'd like the tach for when I fit that.

The 346 was just over 14000, pretty conservative but no chance of destruction. It would take the standard 14,700 and probably more!
