Loler - Identifying Prusik Loops

Good evening all,

Ive got my cs38/39 on the 4 th of January so just trying to get some revision in. Been going through the assessment schedules and noticed that it mentions all equipment having a unique identification mark (cant remember exactly how they worded it).

The problem is I just buy the friction rope and make my own prusik loops so they dont have any identification marks on them. I still have the receipts for when I brought the rope ( about a week ago).

Is this a problem and if it is how do I get over it?

Cheers,

Rob

We put a short length of shrink wrap on the rope before tying and setting the knot, write out a laundry label with indelible pen, slip the shrink wrap iover the knot and heat it with a hot hair dryer, it shrinks in place permanently and protects the knot, holding the label in place too. I think Honey Bros or Buxtons sell the wrap.

Going to be a bit tight now seen as everyones shut down over christmas and new year but hopefully be able to find some somewhere.

Cheers

Rob

I know TQ is an inspector but this can't be right.

If it's fit for purpose it should pass LOLER.

I've had an end to end splice of my own, on a prussic, pass LOLER...with no such fakery.

A prussic tied with two fisherman's by you should pass LOLER.

Don't dress it up ...just stick it under his nose as it is.
