leaking king post on timber crane

I own a timber crane the make of it is unknown but on the main king post it leaks oil when you move the crane from left to right. am I right in thinking if I remove the two tubes that house the rack there should be seals on either side that could be perished meaning oil is leaking for the rack down to the main left and right swivel? sorry if this doesn't make any sense.

Yes it sounds like a seal has failed on one of the slew rams. If you can get them off and there is no scoring it's a straight foward job
