BSL fees

That'll be me signing off from BSL accreditation then:

Dear BSL suppliers

From 1 January 2017, all BSL suppliers will have to pay to have authorised fuels on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL). Further information on the charges, including how much and when you will need to pay, is detailed below and is included in the attached information.

Just had the email myself. We're going to have reconsider being on it, we've got one big customer and do a few odd loads who need BSL but that's it and for £120+ and all the admin work it's doubtful it's worth it now.

The whole system is a joke it'll be interesting to see how much the fees jump after a lot of suppliers drop it.

I only went down the producer trader route as the BSL logo looks good on the adverts and website. Its a bit like having FSC or one of the other nonsense certifications which give you a wee logo to stick on the bottom of your website. Idiots pay for that I'm sure they'll pay to have BSL regardless if they sell to someone claiming the RHI.

I'm out, been registered since the start, and yet to find a BSL customer.

I've never had one. Don't expect to get one as the whole thing only stacks up if you own woodland or are in the firewood trade.

It would cost a fortune buying in logs at £70/cm to throw into a boiler then you add up the running costs and then there's all the time stacking logs cleaning and maintaining the boiler.
