Lucky escape there.... I didn't see a mobile field hospital, full surgical team, anaesthetist, epidemiologist and med-evac helicopter..... It seems such precautions are "entry level" for tree work Stateside according to another thread?

I did like the little extra technique I picked up from your vid though....

Does revving the saw at the tree usually make it go over?

Would of liked to of seen the stump to see what happened , at a guess it looks like you have undercut the gob on the side facing away from the fence so inadvertently you created a swing dutchmans... The undercuts compressed and it swung/pushed the tree in to the fence instead of folding on the hinge and in the intended path.

Thanks for sharing.

Did you wedge it over or just let it go with the natural lean?

I would have though a pair of wedges would have got it into the lay.

No real harm done though, and an easy fix. Anyone who fells trees has had one go slightly off target at some point in their career.
