Nearly triple the cost!! although you don't need to add the 2 stroke mix.

In terms of Aspen 2 - if bought directly from us at AAOIL we can supply you a pallet (54 - five litre cans) with free carriage at £11.03 each - 54 would be = £595.62
Or you could buy a 200 litre drum for £421.35

Aspen has a shelf life of up to 5 years and the Aspen 2 is pre-mixed with 2% fully synthetic biodegradable 2 stroke oil.
If you would like to order a smaller amount to trial we could work out a deal on the carriage.

As a graduate chemist/chemical engineer with many years organic manufacturing experience some of these shock marketing tactics really annoy me. Yes you are exposed to higher levels than would be ideal but it isn't going to kill you. Are you saying in the inefficient 2 stoke engine that Aspen fuels pump out nothing but lovely smells and fresh air?

Stihl saws at least are designed so the exhausts blow the fumes away from the operator, the air dilution factor must reduce the OEL to a legally acceptable level or Stihl would have to recommend the wearing of a mask.

I could spend hours with replies to this but suffice to say shock marketing does sell. Bull***t baffles brains so they say!!!

If Benzene was replaced by MTBE's, which then replaced with alkylates at 10% on pump fuel, why the thread title?

Welcome to the forum AAOIL....you have now ensured that i will NEVER use aspen.

We are a long way behind the rest of Europe. In Holland a law was passed last year that makes it obligatory to use an alkylate petrol in hand held petrol machinery.

I think it's also obligatory to smoke a joint whilst using machinery in Holland

Dont get me wrong, I am not knocking any of Aspens products, just seeking answers to nagging questions, after all if they wish us to pay 3x the price of pump fuel, its the least they can do.

Spent 13 years in diesel exhaust emission research after my PhD. One might ask wtf am I doing in treework?! Nother story, but ditto - BS to Joe Public gets me down. The other day some people we were at a BBQ with were attempting to inflate a double airbed with a tiny 12V car tyre inflater. I sooo wanted to explain to them the difference between pressure and volume, that they needed the latter and their poxy little pump would be furgled in minutes. Had to hold back and the little pump died. Bet they'll go buy another one. Someone teach these idiots!!! Britain is full of inpractical *****!
