Occasional climber needs advice.

Hi, I used to climb day in day out 20 plus years ago. I have about a dozen reasonably large trees in my care at my home and the homes of family members.

My climbing gear is really old now, and as I am 48 and a lot heavier than I used to be I no longer trust it. I am looking to get a new set of kit on a limited budget. I am fine for saws, krabs etc, I am just looking for a harness, rope and two prussik loops. I think I am decided on Yale XTC with two Sirius loops. I am considering a Petzl Avao sit as it suits my budget. This gear will be used maybe ten days a year, or maybe more with a few jobs for mates.

Any comments relating to the gear at all? Any experiences, specifically re the harness? I am used to a fixed attatchment point, my old harness is a Willans T20 (Ithink) I have tried a harness with two rings and a bridge and didn't really like it...

Thanks in advance guys. PS, I don't want shiny stuff, I want to climb off both ends of one rope with prussiks...

hi I climb in that harness(but sit fast ) and use that rope but i use a blake's hitch there light and comfortable to be honest i would like a bridge but at the time had limited budget and currently as there's nothing wrong with my harness see no reason to upgrade i'm not a full time climber either and don't do massive stuff so actually suits the current work i do

not had any problem with the rope have climbed in rain didn't have any trouble ! and a prussik is a prussik
