Knot Type
  • Friction hitch

  • Ddrt (doubled rope technique)

Suggested Cordage Size
  • 8-10mm on 11-13mm host line

Further Comments
  • Like the Gripping Hitch the Icicle is a fantastic knot for gripping a smooth post, and even a tapered spar. As a climbing knot, the Icicle will grip every time, however does generate a lot of friction so self tending is minimal.

Pete Bannister Congratulations on a great facility! Its the first time Ive looked at it.

I'm wondering where the end of the second eye is on this icicle hitch?
Always has two ends through the final bite whenever I’ve tied it before

best wishes
