Zigzag or Lockjack?

Anyone have any opinions on the petzl zigzag or the ART Lockjack? Anyone used both and have a preference? Need to get a load of new kit and am thinking of going mechanical. I normally climb on a Prussik/pulley or hitchclimber. Hitchclimbers probably my favourite so at the moment I'm steering towards the Lockjack. Any help making my mind up appreciated. Thanks, matthew

I like my zigzag, better with the thinner rope, bit fiddly trying to stuff 13mm xtc through it.

I like the way it self tends when you're in the tree with plenty of rope weight under and grabs quickly every time you lean back.

A gadget that is midline attachable would be best of all. I believe this already exists in some of the new SRT zigzag type things.

Think I'm right in saying the zigzag is the closest mechanical device you'll find to a hitch climber, I love mine and my climbing has come on an awful lot in the short time I have had it so would recommend it. As said, it doesn't work too well with the thicker ropes, I'm using imori and it's pretty good but I hear blue tongue is a flawless match for the zz so that something to consider

Been using my zig zag for about 6 months. I started climbing with 13mm arbormaster. It's descends a lot better with thicker rope but doesn't self tend well at all. I bought some 11.7mm lava and found it to be a whole mother ball game. It depends very rapidly almost like a free fall until you get the hang of it

Ima spiderjack man through and through, but all is a personal thing mate, all ART gear is built very nicely so you can't go wrong with eather, for me the whole point of mechanical drt is the self tending and the spiderjack is better than the zigzag, just takes longer to get used to that's all
