On New Year's Eve my boss's yard was broken into.. Last night all of my personal equipment was stolen from my garage. Chainsaws, polesaw, ropes, blower, hedgecutter, harness.. EVERYTHING. Even my stinking climbing lid! I now have nothing and am unable to do any private work on which I rely to pay my way. Any info or ears to the ground in this area would be greatly appreciated

Still shocked at the frequency that this is happening :(

Have the police been useful? It seems like a suspected thief will get apprehended within a few minutes in a town centre for a trivial value, yet there's little to no protection in the rural areas where thousands of pounds worth of kit's being lifted...

Police were only good for a crime reference for insurance purposes really. That and some sympathy!! I'm gonna have to turn my garage into Fort Knox.

Sensor lights and an alarm I think. There gonna be the best deterrents as the old bill told me CCTV is not much use if they cover their face, license plate etc..
