Just recently fitted a 54 mm piston and pot to my 181 ,which are normally fitted to the 288 .

Having difficulty getting the saw to run now.

Has anyone done likewise and had any problems getting the saw to run .

The 288 cylinder should fit directly onto the 181, other than the bigger bore it had a deco valve, make sure you hav re connected the impuls pipe, and you may need to richen the mixture a little, the early 181 had a carb govenor which worked off vibration ) ball and spring ) if this opens too early it will run very rich on full revs
