Hi

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me for my ignorance. I am submitting a planning application and i need to identify the following trees.

I have tried googling but to no avail. Your expertise is very much appreciated. :001_smile:

PS the third image; its the tree wrapped in ivy. I know it may be impossible to identify.

Clearly the prickly one is a holly. the first one is probably a cherry but need a close up of the leaf. The third one I can see see lots of atlas cedar branches but no idea if that is the tree with the ivy on it. Needs better photos to have any usefulness.

Better photo's would be a great help as Woodguy suggeets; leaf shape and size are the important factors for a positive ID.

The first could be cherry, definitely has that look about it, but the bark looks smooth which could lend it towards a walnut, leaves look similar.

The third photo's looks like an ivy clad holly; tried rotating the photo and zooming in but no good.

Buy yourself a good ID book with a key, problem solved..

Hi

Thanks for your replys. Yes, the third image is the ivy clad tree. The cedar foliage is coming from a Blue Cedar on site, which has a TPO.

I will take closer photo's of the ivy clad tree and the fisrt tree, especially the leaves, and put them up on here.

Thanks again.
