Easy to compare pitch, not so easy to compare guage.

Huskie have a 23 chain but its a full chisel.

The makers name is often stamped on the ties, but you may need your glasses!

If you have the chain and bar to hand the Mk1 eyeball will suffice, if it fits good, if it fits and wags about a lot bad.:laugh1:

thanks guys

they are Oregon (sorry didn't say) 3/8ths 72 link and probably were meant for 056 stihl.

My question was;

did anyone know what the 23 refered to as other Oregon chains have 25 on the drive link.

I thought it would be a simple case of looking on the Oregon site but they don't mention 23.

someone out there will advise me!

The 25 on the rakers means that the (initial) raker setting is recommended to be 25/1000 of an inch - but that has nothing to do with the drive links (or the model number of the chain). There usually is a different number down on the tangs that go down into the bar slots and sprockets, and it is that number that is needed to ID the chain model.

Husqvarna chains are made by Oregon and there is a Husqvarna 23.

H23 is .325", .050" 1.3mm full chisel.

H25AP is .325" .058" 1.5mm and quoted as a 'Micro Chisel'.

Have a gander through here:

I think you may well find your answer in there.
