Just been down to visit my oldies in the south of France for a few weeks, my dad and i found this 1960 Peugeot 403 pickup in a field. My dad tracked down the owner and a deal was struck for 80 Euros. We fettled with it for an hour and although the starter motor was just clicking we managed to start it on the handle! I then drove it the short way back to my dads garage, the 3 speed column shift took a bit of getting used too and after further inspection the main jet was blocked.. which explained the backfires... lol

The n/s sill is rotten but its not structural, i unbolted it in a couple of mins and a local meal fabricator is making us one for 160euros. It also needs a plate on the drivers floor as thats pretty thin.

The starter is in being rebuilt as the brushes are worn.

We cleaned it up with a plastic scrubbing brush! [whistling] and my dad intends on painting it in a dark grey enamel paint with a roller. Its been brush painted before so we figure the enamel will a least give a gloss finish!

It will be used to haul logs and vin yard wood for his stove as well as building materials for my dads many property projects. He was talking about driving it back to the uk so i could use it but i set him straight. :laugh1:
