Whats the best make / model of pickup or flatbed I can buy for around £2.5k, I know it's not an awful lot of money lads, but needs must etc.

Need it for fence panels etc, thought about a dbl cab for storage of tools etc, and it will hopefully do away with the need for a trailer which is what we need if we keep our panel van.

LDV, TRANSIT OR ???

It is more than likely that I will be selling my Mercedes 308D in the early spring (can't really justify running a 4x4 and tipper too).

It is:

1990

105k

1 owner until beginning of 2010

Excellent condition

A tipper

Recently serviced

All new tyres

New glow plugs

New universal joints on prop shaft

Passed MOT in November requiring a bulb

Taxed

Will get new battery shortly

£1300

Can deliver :D

Would that be the 308 without power steering mate ?

Reason I ask is I can't drive any motor without it, old war wound, well whiplash at least ;-)

You should get a 2001/2 type transit for that money without any probs. You'll get more for your money with an LDV but it'l probably be falling apart a bit more than a transit......

No exerience of other flatbeds/tippers I'm afraid.

Looks to be a popular motor does the transit, never had one for over 10 years (was an r reg I think ) though so don't know much about that age of motor ?

Anything a paticular problem on them I should look out for ?

Oh and I could do with a 12 foot load bed if they made them?

No power steering, no! :laugh1:

Actually, the huge diameter steering wheel means that you only feel the weight when moving from a standstill.

I'll get a proper advert up at some point, though I am in no hurry to sell.
