Diff lock working on iveco 180e23?

I've managed to get stuck a couple of times recently. When I have engaged the diff lock the light on the dash flashes. I'm sure it used to come on and not flash when I first got the truck.

 

Any ideas?

Take the bulb out?

 

Mine doesn't have a light, so I can't really help with that. If the diff lock is working properly it will be almost impossible to turn the vehicle.

Mine has a light it comes on solidly and you know when it's engaged the truck feels different, takes a few more revs to get moving etc

Engage the switch, Put it in reverse, then go forwards and it should stay on. If the diff lock is not used often the actuator may get stiff and need opposite drive to engage.

Definitely not working. Where about on the axle/differential is the diff lock?

This is air actuated as well. I'll check the pipes as was working couple of months ago. Just need to know where it is, what it looks like [emoji23]

Should be obvious, on my Iveco they are on the rear of the diff, a shaft that goes into the diff

Had a closer look at this and found a square cover on the front side of the diff.

Took it off, undoing 4 x 10mm bolts.

Plunger under the cover was free, and air was coming from the hole in the cover, so not sure what's up.

Putting the cover back on, I couldn't get it to sit back on flat, something seemed to be stopping it, but couldn't see anything.

Any ideas?
