I'll 2nd Cotoneaster frigidus the Himalayan Tree Cotoneaster.

Introduced from the... erm Himalayas around 1824. Flowers will yield bright red berries which will stay on until following spring. These will attract wood pidgeons, blackbirds and thrushes during harsh cold snaps when they can't find anything else to eat. Remaining berries then tend to all drop simultaneously as new leaf buds start to swell and open around end April beggining of May
